Day 1 - Family trip to Taiwan 2023
It was the longest waited holiday for the Theye. Due to to COVID, many of us were not able to travel for the last 3 to 4 years. Last year, we booked the Carribean cruise with the extended family hence we did not went to Taiwan.
After 12 years, my dear and I are going to step back to this place full of street foods! And this time round, along with the 2 JJ. Travelling on the flight is much easier with the 2 JJ grown up. But we had more luggage as their clothes are as big as mine now!
The flight to Taiwan was at 8am, but we arrived the airport before 5am cos we have to ensure my mil will be able to get a wheelchair to push her into the boarding area. And thank God for a smooth check in and the lady at the counter checked in our wheelchair and even arranged a wheelchair to be ready at the Taoyuan airport.
What's next, Mr Theye's usual practise, to head to the Terminal 1 staff canteen for breakfast. We settled down quickly for some fried bee hoon + daily dose of coffee and tea.
The flight was smooth and we reached Taoyuan in the noon. Of cos we are careful with our luggage now, ensuring all luggage are collected. Our driver, Xiao Zhou was at the arrival hall waiting for us. We tried our hands on the lucky draw, with no luck for the 7 of us. Sad!
First stop, we headed down to Hsin Chu for the fried bee hoon. We finished the food in no time, even JJ love the bee hoon. And here we are after the meal, I spotted a small coffee house - our dose of coffee and ice cream treat for JJ!
Next we headed down to the Houlong Cape of Good Hope, 好望角 to catch the windmills along the coastal area! The wind was strong but we braved it to capture some pictures.
Along the way back to the car, the kids and their Xiao gu were spotted buying grilled pork sausages! The driver dropped us along a Family Mart to get some drinks and instant noodles before we checked into the Flying Cow ranch.
