1st Time My son is sick!!!
10th May 2012, which is the 7th wk of my 2 JJ.
And for the first time, JohnJohn is sick... i saw he kept squeezing n has a blocked nose in the morning. Ah dear n I decided to send him to the doctor. The best part is the PD is earning good money, most of the PD clinic are not opened in the noon or even evening. Ah dear did a google and found a GP that do checks on infant around our housing estate.
The GP did a detailed check, and only gave 2 types of medicine, for the cold and cough. For the fever, as Johnjohn is too young and small, he did not give any. So throughout the nite, all we can do was to sponge him with a wet towel. And Jane(the da ku) came to visit johnjohn, and looked after him and mummy can have a quick nap of 2 hours.
In the mid of the nite, I was thinking why are we relying just on a towel, can i have some parcedemol for the kid. So I asked Ah dear, how abt visiting KKH. So in the wee hours, we ended up A&E at abt 1am. Due to Johnjohn is infant, the queue to see the doc was quite fast. Same verdict: He is too young, liver has not fully developed till 3 months, hence no parcedemol is allowed, unless the infant hit a temperature of 39.5 degree.
But at least at the hospital, they did a suck of the mucus for johnjohn. I guess it's quite painful, cos it's using a thin tube to go down the nose!!!
Lesson learnt, the cool cool pad is useless within an hour or so. The best method is to use a wet towel and sponge the baby and to monitor the temperature every 2 hours.
