Family Trip to KuKup

It is yet another family trip. Where to?

KUKUP!

This trip was organized after Baby shared in our family group chat. So after getting the contact from her, I contacted the KuKup vendor. We have to met the minimum occupancy of 10 pax for the trip. The 2D1N trip will cost $98 per pax inclusive of transport, food and accommodation.

So after securing the Chalet B, we were ready for the trip . On 1st Jul, the van picked us up from our home and Marsiling MRT as early as 630am and 7am respectively. After clearing the customs, the driver brought us a food area, selling breakfast such as dim sum, wonton mee. I decided to order the wonton mee after taking a quick glimpse of crowd and the food that they were eating. Of cos, we did not just settled down for wonton mee only! So we ordered the pancakes, dim sum and more!

After reaching the Kukup town area, we just shopped around before our lunch at their local Chinese restaurant at 11.30am. The food quality is ok, but the spread is quite sumptuous as we had lot of seafood dishes such fish, prawn and crab. But I did not get to finish the crab as we have to hurry to catch the boat ride to the chalet.

It was a short ride, and we reached HOME Kukup Resort. Our bags were placed outside chalet B as they had arranged to transport our bags earlier. After settling down and bathing the kids, we were starting to eat again! The local kids were peddling their home made food such as Ah-yu drinks, tea eggs. Next we were served tea break by the resort. I must say the prawn crackers were delicious, even Ah Bee had 3 pieces although the lunch was not totally digested! And there was a pot of chicken curry to go with mee hoon. We can hardly stand after tea-break. So we rented the electric scooter and took a ride to the town area. At the town area, we ordered our kueh lapis as well as some cookies. And of cos, Ah Dear did not forget to pay a visit to the MaryBrown restaurant to get some fried chicken!

For dinner, we were served with BBQ chicken wings, and more. We were practically eating non-stop! After dinner, we bought some fireworks from the resort. It seem that it was a night lit up by fireworks by the visitors living with different Kukup resort vendors.

The next morning, we were served their local breakfast such as packed nasi lemak and mee siam. After breakfast, it was almost time to leave. Prior to leaving Kukup, we went to the nearby kelong to understand the life of the locals. What amazed me is my mum and aunt dashed to start their buying; while we followed the owner who briefed us on the fish farming.

The driver picked us up from the Kukup town and dropped us at Pontian town for our lunch before sending us back to SG.

We loved the resort and the people! We will be back soon! If you will like to arrange a trip, you can check their FB account: Sweet Home Kukup Resort
