News of the passing of Mr Lee Kuan Yew

23rd Mar
Just as everyone wakes up early in the morning to work, we receive news of the passing of Mr Lee via online news.

And yes, I was the first in the family, as Ming Ying was activated by our Director. So I jumped up and turned on the TV. And it's was the real truth. Real hard truth.

Probably we have always seen Mr Lee as the steel man, who even say he will wake up fr his grave if anything happens to Singapore. So once receiving the news, I felt a sense of loss. Esp since young, I have been seeing him on TV esp during the National Day period. And I remember my dad used to say "that's is yr ah gong, he is talking today. ..so no drama show today". Similar to my grandpa, Ah Gong, I also respect Mr Lee as the Singapore Ah Gong since young. Even as i'm writing this blog, my tears will just drop. I realized how rooted he is in my heart, and each Singaporean's heart. Of cos, many has criticized him over the "having 2 is enough" policy, but i guess at that time the infrastructure in SG was not built enough to support a big population. Like he said, many decisions made at the point of time according to the situation then. But i guess every Singaporean is still grateful to him, esp he made a safe Singapore. Also he has provided me a education, and also a place called HOME for my children.

May our Good Lord watch over Mr Lee and his family esp during this week of mourning.

And my colleagues and I managed to pay our respect to Mr Lee as he was lying at the Parliament House. We queued for 2 hours by the 2nd queue that was formed by the Supreme Court. I heard some of the Singaporeans were queuing along the Boat Quay, they waited > 4 hrs to pay respect. But I guess this is the queue that each Singaporean has to do it after what Mr Lee has done for us.
