Day 3 @ Melbourne

On the 3rd day, we were ready to drive all the way down to Great Ocean Road after our breakfast. We checked out off Quest, leaving some of the luggage behind before we come back on 21 Sep.

Along the way to Geelong, we saw yellow patches which seem to be flowers. So we decided to stop by the road and take a look. And it was an entire paddy of yellow flowers! Love the sweet smell of the flowers.

So along the drive, we pumped up the petrol at Waurn Ponds area, where I used to do night grocery shopping during the university days. The shopping mall has been upgraded and looks so different now! So we headed to Coles to get some food to last us the next 2 days in the farm-stay. And my Ah dear was like a magnet being attracted into K-mart, and came back with a bag of boxer shorts!

And Ah Ping and the 2 aunties were trapped at the food court when they saw there was a Chinese stall selling fried noodles! I guess we are still Asian, prefer rice and noodles. As it's abt noon time, we decided to pack some food and eat in the car before continue on the drive.

Upon reaching Apollo bay, we did a stop for them to stretch their legs, and had a tea-break at the fish and chip shop. Following that, I quickly bought 4 scoops of ice cream to share in the car. We did not have much time as it was around 3.30pm and we still have quite a few km to cover before we reach 12 Apostles! We also decided to give the lighthouse a miss as it was quite a steep slope up. And I was worried the 2 aunties are not strong enough for that climb.

We managed to reach the 12 Apostles at 6.30pm, and we managed to catch the sunset! After taking some pictures, we quickly headed back to the car to drive down to Bellevue Farmstay whch is another 30 km away and the sky was turning dark. And true enough, we struggled abit along the drive to Bellevue Farmstay. Thank God, we did not lose the way and managed to reach the farmstay around 7pm. By then we were too tired, so Ah dear suggested to cook dinner instead of heading out again.

And guess what, we managed to find a rice cooker, so it saved us a lot of effort. Praise our Lord! So my mum and mum-in-law helped to cut and wash the vegetables, while i did the cooking. And we had a big pot of ABC soup too! So everyone enjoyed the dinner so much that even Ah Ping went for 2nd serving of the rice! Surprised...!!! I guess we are still the "rice" ppl!

After dinner we enjoyed a plate of fruits which we bought from Queen Victoria! Oh my, the kiwi is sweet.. mango is sweet! It's really a fruitful day! hahaha!
