JJ 1st Flight to Melbourne - Day 1

After a long planning of the Melbourne trip, this is the night we were setting off to the Changi Airport. Woohoo!!! 

For the last few days, John was hit by stomach flu virus. I was worried if the stomach flu will clear before we fly. And he even had high fever on Monday. Thank God, the fever subsided and he was quite ok on Wed morning. As he was sick, John was quite sticky to me throughout the flight to Melbourne. 

As we were taking the midnight flight out at 11.55pm, the kids were tired after running around at the Changi airport earlier. I gave them a dosage of the milk and they doze off before their meals were being served. Luckily I have Ah Ping to help me to handle Joy as my hands were full with John! We did not have much sleep due to Australia is 2 hours ahead of us. So we only had > 5 hours of sleep after the kids were asleep. 

Upon reaching the airport, Ah Dear went to get an Optus Sim card for ease of contacting the local no. Soo, we headed to the opposite building to get our rental car. And over there, we had our first commotion over the child seats! We thought the booster seats that we brought along were ok for the kids, but the lady refused to let us go as it failed the standard in Melbourne. So we had the seats removed, and put it back again. And off we go to our Quest Apartment. 

Everything was smooth till my mum said : " the lock of my luggage is different!" Then it dawn to us that we have taken the wrong luggage! Arruuggghhhh!!! Luckily we called the airport, they managed to find her luggage there and asked us to head back to the airport to pick it up. So off again, we went to grab a quick bite at the Mac before heading back to the airport. 

At the airport, I had another bad news, the luggage was trapped at the customs, so I have to wait for another 1/5 hrs before the next flight touch down, and the guy can go in to retreive the luggage! And I returned the other luggage to the custom guy, and my sweet lil Joy refused to let go, cos she wanted a 1 for 1 luggage exchange!  I have to tell her we will return for Po-Po luggage later. 

And best part of the day, my Ah Dear managed to google out the next nearby Westfield, so we headed over there to do a quick shopping before heading back to airport. After retreiving the luggage, we headed back to Quest, and decided to stop by La-Porchetta for dinner! Our first dinner in Melbourne.
